now that the user has already paid for HIPAA for $19 not basically 20 bucks I want to show how you can now try to convince them to upgrade to this one for 150 bucks okay so what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna go to HIPAA which is the what John Smith has purchased and I'm going to enable upsell okay and then over here I'm just gonna say hey if you have already I'm just going to do upgrade and I'm gonna say I'm gonna try to convince the guy to buy this one as upgrade so now keep in mind the person who is seeing the upgrade option has already paid $19.99 right 20 bucks so when you want to upgrade them to this price you probably want to give them a discount if you don't have a price then the user will be able to the system will automatically charge the user the difference which essentially all it means is you don't have to pay $149 you're paying $149 minus the $19.99 you have already paid previously so that will be the upgrade cost right but you can basically say you know what for a limited time only I'm going to charge you $59.99 which is a better deal right you can also check this box if you don't want to display the upgrade cost just in case your integration actually do the upgrade in your own ecommerce system so you just want to give them ability to upgrade but you don't tell them the price until they actually check out but over here you can say enjoy a temporary saving by upgrading to our full course okay so I'm just going to clunk save so now I'm going to do is as John Smith let's say I'm going to go back to my HIPAA course notice upgrade available button is showing up and then when I click on upgrade available it's going to say hey this course is listed for $149 but you can upgrade it for $59.99 what a what a good deal right and then you know whatever you want to say and then when you click on upgrade notice that the shopping cart is populated with the discounted upgrade price that you entered in the flow and the user can basically pay for whatever you are upgrading so hopefully this tutorial highlights the difference between upsell and upgrade and how it works now a word of caution if you are using integration with your existing ecommerce ecommerce shopping cart where Oasis is only just part of the solution please make sure that you test the integration part to make sure that this works thank you
